Isn't it about time someone wrote a song about Gavin Newsom?
The former San Francisco mayor, current California Lt. Governor and Current TV talk show host has always attracted an outsize amount of attention. But up until now, most of that attention has either come from media gadflies or from giant chickens.
Now, a musician has penned an ode to California's best coiffed elected official entitled "Suck This C*ck Gavin." It goes without saying that the song absolutely filthy.
The tune marks the extremely NSFW title track on a new album by Grant MacDonald.
See, MacDonald really doesn't like Newsom, due to his long-standing family connection to the Gettys. SFist explains:
From what we can tell of the 30-second previews, the rest of the album seems an indictment of the Getty family for stealing World War II masterpieces and "supporting Adolf Hitler's oil supply", which is as good a conspiracy theory as any, we guess. MacDonald himself released an entire 45-minute documentary cleverly titled "Gettymovie" back in 2008, detailing Getty patriarch J.P. Getty's involvement with the F?hrer. Surprisingly, and sadly, we can't find any mentions of forbidden love between Getty and Hitler.
MacDonald's website also claims he is suing Getty Oil for $22 billion over WWII war crimes charges.
Other than ranting about the Gettys and penning multiple odes to what he'd do (sexually) to the most telegenic member of the University of California Board of Regents, most of the rest of MacDonald's expansive oeuvre is dedicated to songs about what he'd do (sexually) to various cowboys.
Personally, when it comes to the wide world of Gavin Newsom songs, we prefer "I'm Gavin Newsom, You're A Hipster" by Bang Maiden.
Or, you know, there's probably at least one Joanna Newsom song with a coded reference to her famous political cousin. Maybe this one. Or this one. Or this one.
Actually, we're just going to go listen to a bunch of Joanna Newsom songs now.
