Rem?us needs your vote!

Hey guys! The company I've co-founded, LocalSense, needs your vote. We're trying to win a contest for entrepreneurs, which will help us take a leap ahead in closing our first round of funding and getting to market ahead of schedule. This is what I do for work outside of RolePlayGateway, and I'm hoping it'll help me pave the way to providing a more sustainable (and exciting) future for RPG as a whole.

To do this, I need you to vote for us in this competition. It's really easy, and takes maybe a minute of your time:

If you don't want to use Facebook to sign in, you can register using an email here: http://vator.tv/registration?no_signin=true -- just click the link in the paragraph below the Facebook signin and you'll get the email registration form. If you do use Facebook and want to help out even more, like, comment, or share the post I made on Facebook -- getting more people to see this will go a long way to help us win.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and (hopefully) the time you put forward to vote.

Apple and Samsung finally agree... to drop a plethora of claims from their patent spat

Apple and Samsung finally agree... to drop a plethora of claims from their patent spat

Last week, Judge Lucy Koh informed Apple and Samsung that they would have to reduce the number of patent claims at issue in the parties' Northern District of California litigation. And now, each has complied, with Samsung dropping its total number of asserted patent claims from 75 to 15, while dismissing two patents from the case altogether. For its part, Apple has reduced its case to one claim from each of its asserted utility patents, its four iPhone and one iPad design patents, and its trade dress claims for those two devices. Keep in mind, however, that they did so without prejudice, which means that either party can reassert these dismissed claims in a later lawsuit. That said, the parties have at least attempted to placate Judge Koh in order to keep their July 30th trial date, which is when the real legal fireworks begin. Feel free to check the filings below for the full scope of this most recent patent pruning.

After 20,000 Beta Downloads, Doodle.Ly iPad App Gets Legit With New Social Features

Screen shot 2012-05-07 at 9.27.25 PMImagery has always been important, but it would seem that our obsession with it is growing by the minute. Pinterest is so hot right now, and I honestly don't even need to talk about Instagram, or that Facebook bought the $0-revenue producing app for a hefty $1 billion. And, of course, Draw Something by OMGPOP enjoyed similar success. So it's really no surprise that entrepreneurs are trying to cash in on our obsession with pretty pictures, which is exactly what a new app called Doodle.ly is doing. The app soft-launched back in July to get a round of public beta users on the platform, with an official iPad app launch in February. But the app still wasn't quite ready to go big or go home until now, thanks to the addition of a few key social features to keep users coming back for more.

VAIO T13 Ultrabook could be coming with Ivy Bridge, according to Sony's German site

VAIO T13 Ultrabook could be coming with Ivy Bridge, according to Sony's German site

If Sony's German site is to be believed, then it's safe to say the outfit's had a change of heart recently. According to a revealing spec sheet on the website, there's now a T13 Ultrabook model with one of Intel's latest chips on board. Just last week, Sony announced the Euro-bound T13 would be sporting a last-gen Core i3-2367M CPU, but the recent finding shows an i5-3317U variant (you know, the one on Sammy's Series 9) could be in the works. Still, it's unknown whether this Ivy Bridge-packing VAIO would replace its Sandy Bridge sibling or if it's just going to be a complete different offering. We'll have to wait and see.
